Known as ‘The New Bern Lily’, it is the Craven County Master Gardeners’ signature bulb and can be found every year in our Fall Bulb Sale.  The long-lived coral red flowers bloom in late summer to fall.  The flower spikes reach 18 inches and love well-drained soil and partial shade.  Patience is a virtue and these may take up to 2 years to appear and bloom.  Do not remove the bulb – they are busy building strength!  They will form colonies over the years when happy.
