Commonly known as Starflowers or Stars of Bethlehem, these early spring delights are equally at home scattered naturally throughout the lawn as they are in a more formal landscape. The white flowers are faintly honey-scented and the thin grass-like foliage has a slight onion aroma when crushed. Ideal for rock gardens and naturalized in lightly wooded locations, Ipheion spreads easily but are not considered invasive.

Adored in southern gardens, streetscapes and lawns, this small 6 in. high white star-shaped flower naturalizes for a ground covering display in early spring. It’s a very low maintenance bulb producing delicate foliage that fades after the flower has bloomed.  Grow in sun to partial shade.
