These charming plants are celebrated by Southern gardeners for their easy-care nature, long blooming period and sweet-smelling flowers that appear in early spring. They produce delicate 6-pointed star-shaped blossoms ranging in color from crisp white to pale blue, violet and deep periwinkle.  The foliage sprouts in late autumn or winter, then the blooms take over in spring. The entire plant completely dies back and goes dormant underground during the hot summer months.  Grow in sun or partial shade.
