This is a species tulip unlike the more familiar larger hybrid tulips and is better for southern gardens. Species tulips have less need than hybrids for prolonged cold winters enabling them to return year after year. It's flowers are bright yellow with red petals on the exterior. This 8 in. tall tulip performs beautifully in border, beds and rock gardens as well as potted arrangements.
