Elephant ears have very large black lustrous leaves and in a breeze give movement and interest to your garden. While this plant can also be grown in the shade, the leaves will lose their luster and if allowed to dry out the leaves will have burnt edges. This deer resistant plant can be grown in pots but will require watering during hot weather. It provides a wonderful contrast to brightly colored plants. Tubers can be left in the ground in our zone.
