Sometimes called the ‘naked lady’ or the ‘resurrection lily’ or the ‘magic lily’, it is one of the most showy pink flowers you will ever see in your garden. The nicknames for this beautiful flower come from the fact that the flowers appear on a sturdy, leafless stem in late summer after the leaves have withered and disappeared. This beauty requires full sun and should be planted with its neck above the soil. The bulbs don’t like to be moved and may take a season before they bloom in a new home.  They are easily forgotten until you are surprised by the showy blooms in late July. Lycoris squamigera is in the Amaryllis family and will grow up to 30 inches high.  You will be thrilled when the beautiful pink trumpets fill your garden with color in late summer.
